This raw edge linen dress was created in collaboration with my friend Megan Anderson, combining careful handwork with an intentionally restrained design. The linen is left unfinished at the edges, allowing the material’s natural texture and irregularity to remain visible. This approach emphasizes the fabric itself, highlighting linen’s quiet strength and its ability to age with grace over time.
A cotton lace lacing system is integrated into the dress, designed to adjust fluidly and accommodate U.S. sizes 10 through 0. Rather than enforcing a fixed silhouette, the lacing allows the garment to adapt to the body, offering flexibility and longevity. The system functions both practically and visually, reinforcing the idea of clothing as something responsive rather than rigid.
The garment was photographed by Megan Anderson and modeled by Jordy, with the setting of Kauai, Hawaii providing a natural and understated backdrop. The location’s landscape—defined by light, wind, and organic forms—echoes the dress’s material simplicity and openness. Together, the garment and its environment emphasize a shared focus on ease, movement, and thoughtful restraint.
